The Synod of NSW & ACT meets roughly every 18 months, and the next meeting is on 13-16 May 2027 in Mudgee.

The Northern, Central and Southern Presbyteries will each select 85 delegates to attend, with in each case at least 10 identified as youthful and at least 10 with multicultural backgrounds.  A geographical spread of those selected is also anticipated.

The process to be selected

  1. Complete the online nomination form Nomination Form - Contact Details.
  2. Nominations for Northern Presbytery close on Sunday 25th October 2026.
  3. The leadership of Northern Presbytery will review the nominations, after which Presbytery members will elect Synod members through a ballot process.
  4. Taking into account the required balance of lay and ordained members, as well as gender, age and cultural diversity, the leadership of Northern Presbytery will advise nominees of the outcome, preferably by 16 November 2026.
  5. Those selected will then complete online registrations (starting 16 November and) closing on Friday 5 March 2027.

There will be travel and accommodation expenses.  There will be funds for reimbursement of most expenses, however, the likely reimbursements are unknown at present.
